No replacement for displacement. Ha! I had the only 8.2L on the west coast and will still own and drive the 2017 because it will still be a badass truck! More aux switches means more options. Paddle shifters while hammering the dunes, hell yes. 3.0's so I don't have to rebuild the 2.5's...
I'll PM all of the PNW Raptor owners I know and see if I can get some interest on this. The Coos Bay dunes are a blast and my recommendation on where to go. Winchester Bay is fun but not as Raptor friendly as Coos Bay. Here is a video that will give you an idea of what is there. We couldn't ride...
Sorry, I've bean slammed at work. Fourteen hour days are killing me! I have a buyer for both light setups right now. If the deal falls through I can get your pics.
I removed these lights from my recently traded in 2010 Raptor and don't need them anymore. They were on the truck for fourteen months and used on six or seven trips to the dunes. Both lights are in great shape and I still have the original boxes. The Light Force Striker 170 50w HID's were...
Make sure the dealer has the fuel tank filled to the top. Then drive it home like you stole it! You'll have a permanent grin on your face the whole way.
If you don't mind some serious drone, do what I did. Flowmaster 40 dumped before the rear axle. It will wake your neighbors up in the morning. Don't ask me how I know.
The MBRP sounds great. I know a couple of Raptor owners that have the same setup and love it. I have a Flowmaster 40 series that is dumped before the axle and wondered why I dumped it just like you. Loud obnoxious drone! It only took a day or so to get used to it. Now I love it and I don't give...
Mid perch will cost you out of pocket if you you do it yourself maybe $50- 60 max. Spend the rest on strippers! Long term, it will be worth it! Trust me.
I gave up the last 33.333333 % of my soul. Previous decisions have taken the other 2/3rd's. Oh, and I'll have an ex wife soon too. I think she's where the first 2/3rd's went. I just signed on the dotted line and said WTF.
Excellent pic! Those landings hurt for sure. Mild whiplash from some of mine. Even with the front end up high in the pic did it end up with the front end touching down first?
X2.
Just make sure to keep the centering red stripe at twelve o'clock where you can see it while four feet in the air. I keep both hands on the grab wheel when jumping my Raptor!
Do you want an average 4x4 (FX4) or do you want the most badass 4x4 (Raptor)? The Raptors turn heads! Does the FX4? I doubt it. The choice for me was simple.
Me too! Another forum member and myself have rebuilt my shocks a few times. The biggest challenge for most will be the nitrogen charge, or the right way to bleed them or the special tools or the knowledge on how to do it correctly. There is no manual for rebuilding these shocks. I've had the...
My thoughts exactly! But make sure your foot is into it while jumping. These trucks tend to come down nose heavy. Your stock front Platinum suspension should be able to handle it!
When'll I'm not thrashing my Raptor offroad at the dunes my next favorite hobby is fishing for salmon and steelhead out of my drift boat on many of my local PNW rivers. Fish on! My name is Don and I hope to meet many of you at TRR next year.
