Do you have an easy way to check if too tight. Easy to see if loose but not sure on too tight.

Nothing yet. Had the ball joints checked and they weren’t loose. I need to check myself if they are too tight. Don’t trust a shop for this.

I have turned this off. Even had the dealership unplug it from the wiring harness to see if this would help. The problem is not this. When I turn it on it’s completely different feel.

I have taken it into two dealerships and both give me the run around saying if something was wrong with the steering or rack it would provide a code or light. I do have a Ford certified warranty bumper to bumper for another 50k miles but can’t find a dealer willing to admit there is a problem.

Thank you for all the great info. I will start by checking the ball joints again. I can have them add some castor since its a cheap easy step. The steering rack does seem to be the most logical problem. Any good recommendations for this? Ford OEM the best option? Looks like 2k or so job.

Texas MotorWorx checked out the ubolts and leaf spring bushings and did not think either were the issue. How did you determine if the ubolts were loose? Could you visible see movement or torqued on them with a bar?

I did see this video Checked the steering wheel when they did my shock rebuilt and the nut was tight with no play. I’ve been desperate. Trying to find a fix because without a fix I can’t keep the truck.

3 different shops and 4 alignments. I’ll see if I can find the latest one.

This is exactly it!! And the other gen 2 and gen 3 trucks I have driven are not like this. Any ideas on how to resolve?

This is a good idea. I could try this out on the farm roads by my hunting property. Do you know which fuses runs this system and if the truck will still go into drive with this unplugged?

The truck does not pull from a stop to acceleration. Once you hit 60mph it starts to feel loose and almost like a magic carpet sensation. Constantly requiring to steer left and right to keep the truck tracking straight.

The truck does have lane departure/keeping system. I have tried driving with this on and off. No changes with either. When driving with auto cruise control and lane keep the truck bounces back and forth between the lanes and most times is unable to keep the truck between the lanes either.

The truck is a one owner with no accident reports. One of the reasons I purchased this vehicle. I have inspected the paint in the front end and all bolts and seems nothing has been moved or replaced.

@MurderedOutSVT I have rotated the tires and even purchased all new OEM tires to see if this would resolve the issue. It did not. Also have adjusted the tire PSI from 28 all the way to 45 with different front and rear as well. No change to the pull/drift/wander.
