Return. It’s not normal and I haven’t seen anyone on any of the forums post a similar issue. I know it’s a major hassle to uninstall these and then live without it for a couple weeks, but you will be glad.
I bought my 2018 Raptor used, and it had a stubby antenna. It eventually broke off leaving a metal nub. I cannot seem to unscrew it, I think it’s rusted or fused to the base over time.
First, any suggestion to get the old antenna out ?
I am trying to find a replacement base before I try to...
I got stuck in some really crap weather yesterday in the middle of KS. Very grateful I had this unit for watching the weather with the SIM data link. Kept me from driving right into a bunch of hail and high winds (maybe tornado):
I did sort some of the audio quality issues. I noticed iHeart sounded a lot different than Spotify. Discovered Spotify has a built in EQ and I was able to adjust out some of the treble causing “tinny-ness” that sounded like compression of the audio signal.
I have only had mine a month, so can’t speak to longevity but I have also read forum after forum and many people have had these for a while. This F150 forum has pretty active group with AutoTec units going back 15 months: https://www.f150forum.com/f118/autotec-14-4-t-style-screen-537523/

I am really loving mine as well. I can’t quite seem to get my audio dialed in. It seems to veer toward a compressed audio quality, even after tons of fiddling with the built in EQ. I even had an audio engineer friend help me out. He seemed to think using CarPlay may be doing something and...
Finally got mine dialed in and setup how I like it. Still trying to decide if I prefer CarPlay/Sync versus CarPlay/Android. Using CarPlay via Sync is closer to the OEM setup but not as slick as going straight to the Android head unit. Also, the “console” or Sync emulator seems kind wonky next...
Yes, it works (lights up) as expected now.
I know later model years deleted some of the interior lights (ambient lights, console light, etc). I was curious if the 2019-2020 deleted that little light on the AUTO climate button.
Ok, so I got a used FCIM off eBay, same part number JL3T-18E245-UCE but listed as one for model years 2019-2020 (I have an early model 2018). I noticed the actual circuit board of the HVAC section (lower board) had number P255 on it, but also additional marking MY18. The MY18 was not on my...
just curious what version of the FCIM you guys are buying off eBay to replace it. I saw a thread on another forum where they referenced
JL3T-18E243-UCG
As the part for the 2018 Raptor. Several eBay auctions show it as
JL3T-18E245-UCE
Not sure what is different about these as Ford makes...
Btw - thanks for the link about the airbag problem. That little led component coming loose is probably the culprit. I thought one looks “suspect”. They are very fragile and only held on by tiny solder joints.
It seems to happen after a passenger rides in the truck and gets out of the vehicle. Happened twice this morning.
It seems to happen when a passenger gets out of the vehicle after a trip.
Well, so far the Bluetooth connectivity has been 50/50. With the oem radio, I used a CarPlay dongle it worked great but did require BT and WiFi.
So with the Android screen I did set it up with the BT connection (CarPlay dongle disconnected). That worked sometimes. I just tried clearing the...
I think what @nikhsub1 said still works in a 2018. I have a 2018, and that’s what I have used (Apple dongle) previous to this radio and it worked great.
I might start a thread with FAQs on this radio - not sure the best approach. I have several questions!
There is a thread on the F150 forum...
I have completed the install. Seems to work perfectly, but I have a lot of questions. Lifetime iPhone user, not sure the best way to go about getting the most out if it.
It IS awesome. Love the ability to fine tune the sound with all the equalizer settings and individual gain controls.
I have...
