    PorterW1111's "Burro" build up

Spent some time ripping out the engine and starting pulling wires to get ready for the new front setup. I have a new power plant idea which should work with the centermount. The ford platform is just too wide.

    PorterW1111's "Burro" build up

Update time: Been working on building the fuel cell cradle, not really looking forward to the hours of welding still needed. Have to pause on connecting it to the truck until i get the new lower link mount on the axle done. And i want to hold up a bedside to see if it needs to move and inch...

    PorterW1111's "Burro" build up

Have been spending a good amount of time cutting and sanding off the old tube. Then moving things around multiply times mocking everything up. Couple things that have ended up working out, the fuel cell pushed the sway bar forward and means it now has to mount off the links and it’s travel...

    PorterW1111's "Burro" build up

Pulled the front shocks today to get them up for sale. In case anyone doesn’t quite understand how big a 4.5 shock is….this is a 2.5x10 2 tube bypass next to the 4.5x14 5 tube that will take its place.

    PorterW1111's "Burro" build up

Alright so cutting off the old upper link mounts was a pain in the butt. Kudos to ID designs that was one beefy mount. Then spent as much time as I could welding on the bench, got it to here last night. I have to trim the outer sections to match where the inner ended up landing but should be...

Messed with the doubler plates a little. Figured hit them while they are flat vs after on the axle. Got a little off but I’m blame that on the late night cocktails….

    PorterW1111's "Burro" build up

Upper link mount parts came in today from laser. I’ve been using the crap out of sendcutsend and if anyone wants help with that process I’m happy to assist. I’ll have to adjust the bottom curve to perfectly match the housing shaping but not bad to start out.

    PorterW1111's "Burro" build up

Just got off the phone with Jamar. Talking through some brake stuff. Learned today that for manual brakes you’ll need an inline residual valve. Basically it keeps a small amount of pressure on the back side of the pad. When you’re out romping the desert and not on the brakes constantly the...

Now that I’m actually working on it again I will do my best to document each component I have to work through and the reasoning I find behind the solutions.

    PorterW1111's "Burro" build up

Things I’ve run into so far, the upper link mounts on the ID Designs axle are smaller than the rod end I have so drew up new mounts and sent to laser. Will have to rebuild shock towers and move bypass location up 6” to fit the 4.5 kings. working on finding brake caliper adapters that will...
